About hike: Starting at the picnic shelter we walk along the Huron and Woodland trails as we admire this unique natural gem of the City of Kitchener. This approximately 5 km loop has a little bit of everything: forest, pond, meadow with an awesome variety of birds!

About the leader: Eva enjoys connecting with fellow nature lovers through hiking. She has participated in the Guelph Walking Pilgrimage for many years and plans to walk the Camino one day. With GVTA, Eva leads short urban hikes (around 5 km) on Tuesdays, exploring local natural areas.

Pace and duration: Moderate, 3 - 4 km/hr. About 1.5 hours.
Hike level: 1 (easy) Well-defined, wide, flat trail with a few gentle inclines and many exposed roots. Please wear appropriate footwear..

Parking and departure: Meet at 9:50 am at Huron Natural Area, 801 Trillium Drive, City of Kitchener (GPS 43.398188, -80.482233). The hike will start at 10:00 am sharp.

Directions: Please use your favourite GPS app to obtain directions.
 
What to wear and bring: Pack some water and snacks, and dress warmly and in layers according to the weather. Comfortable hiking shoes, runners or boots are recommended, depending on the amount of snowfall or previous rain. Bring icers if there is snow or ice, if you have them. Most of the trail is not maintained.

Sorry, no dogs on GVTA hikes with the exception of certified service dogs.
