About the hike: We’ll walk along a section of the Nith River on one side and return using a path on the opposite side. Both are dirt tails with some roots and low hanging branches.

About the Leader: James Howe is a certified hike leader. He’s been actively hiking for the last couple of years, initially to prepare to walk the Camino de Santiago Route Frances (780 km) in spring 2024. He continues to regularly hike. He’s making good progress towards his goal to complete an end to end of the Bruce Trail.

Hike level: Intermediate (2). Well marked trails with some rocks, roots and other obstacles.

Parking & Departure: Hike starts at 6:45 PM sharp from roadside parking on Berlett’s Road in Wilmot (43.455583, -80.740089). Please arrive by 6:30 to be ready to leave on time. Roadside parking. No washrooms.

Directions: Please use your favourite GPS app to obtain directions.

What to wear & bring: This is a summer evening hike, please be prepared. Wear appropriate footwear such as trail runners or hiking boots/shoes. Bring water and bug repellent. Long pants are recommended to avoid ticks. Walking poles and sunscreen are optional. Rain gear may be needed. 

Sorry, no dogs on GVTA hikes with the exception of certified service dogs.
